Our proposal for the Gallery was to exhibit the design process of the students-work on the project of the last term.
The Issue of the project was to find a strategy to restructure the national-exhibition-system of the biennale areal in venice italy.
The gallery offered us three types of rooms. One was the office of the gallerist, one the exhibition space and one the space in front of the gallery.
We considered each space as a sequence to explore the exhibited projects and particular intervention on the site.
Each project is located at a different place and is a result of the unique perception of each student. so we needed to design a structure which allows to connect the projects but emphazises th unique design process.
The space in front of the gallery is occupied by a sitemap of the biennale areal. Yellow lines mark the particular place of each project and lead to the second sequence. We called it 3D, because in this room, the physical models of each project were exhibited on a grand table. The table itself was a topographical derivation of the site in venice. From there the yellow lines lead to the next sequence, 4D, the process room. In this space, the design process is shown by all kinds of the students work; mock ups, scetches, models, drawings, trash, fotos, movies and other material, which show the process in connection to the time of the design process.
